Hello Hello!

I’m back and healthy again.

In the first half of November I was I was on a developer conference for a week and became sick afterwards, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to get anything done during that time. But in the second half I was up and running again and got lots of stuff done.

School Map One thing I added a long time ago but I apparently forgot again and again to tell you about it is a small change to the school map.

The map seemed to be too confusing and it was too unclear where the different locations were. So I added small markers to make it more obvious.

Now locations with available events are marked with the white pin. Unlocked locations without events are still visible and visitable but have no pin.

Locations with a special event have their red border like before but they also have the red pin, making the location even more obvious.

Journal Recently I went through the suggestions channel on my Discord Server and found a suggestion I planned for the future. That said, I just implemented it last week. Take a look here: The suggestion was for an overview over all characters together with information about them. Here you have it. Still not sure about the layout but it works. If you have any feedback and suggestions for it please don’t hesitate to tell me :)

This is what you see when you select a character:

On the left you have a kind of image gallery for the character, currently only with all the different uniforms for the character. The uniforms are only unlocked together with the characters or the schools level.

The small star symbol can be used to set the image as favorite. That image will then be used as thumbnail in the character overview.

On the right side you see some information about the character. The information can be combined with conditions so it is possible to set certain parts of the description to be only visible after some conditions are fulfilled. Though most of the characters have no description yet.

If you have a suggestion for the game, don’t hesitate to drop some info about that in the discord channel :D (Or if you don’t have discord, just contact me directly.)

Events Now to the most important part. What is with the events? Well, I did my fair share on that. The events for the level 2 transition have their texts and are only in need of some images. Additionally I also added some new regular events. Those texts are also finished.

And last but not least I started plans for a special Christmas event.

Versioning This is something that I noticed just recently. I figured out I forgot how my versioning system works and the remembered how it was supposed to be. For example the currently released version is 0.1.4C. Now the 0 stands there because the game isn’t finished. The 1 means that the current focus is on the school level 1 and the 4 is just the iteration number of the game. The letter at the end is the patch version for 0.1.4.

Now I always talked about the 0.1.5 Version being the next version, but that’s just wrong. Since the update marks the beginning of level 2, the appropriate version should be 0.2.0. So that’s what the next version will be.

I thought I should make that clear before people get confused on what happend with 0.1.5. There will be no 0.1.5, next version is 0.2.0.

Main Menu And the last thing that happened in the last two weeks is a small rework of the main menu. The old Ren’Py menu is now gone (at least on the main menu screen) and is now replaced with this:

Enough for today! I hope to get the version out during the holidays, but there is NO GARUANTEE on that. I still have a lot to do, since I’m also reworking all the old events. Oh yeah I should probably mention that too. I’m reworking all events, since I refined my event writing workflow after obtaining some tools and methods that allow a level of streamlining which wasn’t possible before. So now all events are redone to integrate them into that workflow. For some of those events it means quite the improvement compared to before, since I’m now much better with the studio software.

So again. Update hopefully at the end of December, but no guarantee on that!!!
