Hello, please all gather!
Again it’s the first of some month. Who cares anymore?
Well, today is the first of may. Which means it is Labour Day! At least here in Germany, and in pretty much most of the World. For some reason, the US does not celebrate Labour Day in May but rather in September, even though it was the American Federation of Labor to choose this date back in 1889. Well… They do theirs.
Labour Day or May Day, as it is also called in Germany is generally celebrated wit a mix of political demonstrations and festive activities. Trade unions organize rallies and speeches to advocate for workers rights, fair wages, and social justice. In many towns and villages, people enjoy traditional events like raising the maypole and attending local festivals. The evening before, known as “Tanz in den Mai” (Dance into May), is often marked by parties and dancing. For others, the day is simply a welcome spring holiday to spend outdoors with friends and family, enjoying barbecues, bike rides, or walks in nature.
So for me, I’m quickly writing this post, before attending a demonstration myself.

Now back to the game.
I spent the last two weeks working a bit on the new events. A preview of one of those can be seen in the header image :D
Unfortunately, as already stated in other posts earlier this year, I have an important exam coming up next week. So I wasn’t really able to do a whole lot. That’s pretty much also the reason, why this version takes much longer than the other ones. Sometimes I’m able to do a bit here and there, finish up another event, but I’m currently just missing the time to concentrate fully on the game. The exam, a few projects also needed for my vocational training. And also writing applications for work after I finished my training in June. All that, while working full time, which is part of the vocational training.
Now what I was able to get done other than some events was the small rework of the in-game menu. Well it wasn’t really a rework, more a small clean-up with a few additions. These additions now allow me to do this:
I know, it doesn’t look like much. It can easily be done with a screen where the buttons are added manually yada yada yada. But I’m not gonna build a dumb ass screen for each of the 200 events or so. I’ll let the game or rather my code handle that for me. So to accomplish this image, I just put in this and the game handles all of the behind stuff for me:
It’s a bit hard to read, I know. It’s a little bit small. (That’s what she said!)
But it’s just a long boy so it doesn’t properly fit. (That’s also what she said!)
For the ones that read the private news 2 weeks ago, you should’ve noticed, that the code now looks a bit different. Yes. It’s better now. It allows for more freedom.
Well unfortunately that is all for today. If you’re wondering why there wasn’t a lot of news today. Please read the post again.
Thanks! xoxo! Kiss! Hug! Grab! Bye!
